TBS and Tepco Webcams Do NOT Match

Taken yesterday, these screen shots suggest that either one or both of the webcams is not authentic real-time feed of the Fukushima Daiichi plant.

Why is this a concern? Crowd-sourced tracking of Fukushima events is essentially the only risk-management strategy available to the people downwind of Fukushima's tremendous belching of radioactive steam. False and/or delayed webcam imagery destroys our only risk-mitigation strategy for responding to criticality events.

Leaders ignore the people at their own peril. Dying and deformed children will enrage even the most pacifist parents.

Fix the cams. Evacuate the people. Test the food and water.

Transparency and accountability are the ONLY way forward for humanity.

  1. Hi Majia, TBS/JNN sometimes stops and has to be restarted but if you press the replay button on the bottom left of the page, it restarts where it had stopped. Only if you refresh the page does it resume live.
I had talked about this discrepancy on enenews webcam discussion thread a year or so ago.
And of course, only Tepcam has a timer.
Still, a few days ago, the lights on #3 visible from TBS was visible only the following night on Tepcam.
That was very puzzling, for sure!
Keep up the good work and let us all keep watching.

    1. Thank you for your comment E. Billien

So, do you think the cams are both 'real-time'?

Your comment suggests the TBS cam may be the 'live' one?

      Thank you for your thoughts...

  2. Majia, you're most welcome.
Really, I wish I knew. I wish we had reliable intel about the whole thing. After watching these cams for two years, I would at least hope that both are live. But I'm not sure of anything much these days, apart from the fundamentals! Liberty,Fraternity,Justice and transparency are worth fighting for, non-violently always. Sincerely. elibi
PS For early risers JST quiet cold pale grey on Tepco this June 26th 2013 at 05:03
